NSPCC Learning

Hazel Leys Academy - NSPCC Learning programme ‘Speak out. Stay Safe.’ 2023

The Speak out Stay Safe Programme:

Speak out Stay safe is a safeguarding programme for children aged 5- to 11-years-old. It is available to all primary schools in the UK and Channel Islands. It helps children understand:

  • Abuse in all its forms and how to recognise the signs of abuse.
  • That abuse is never a child’s fault and they have the right to be safe.
  • Where to get help and the sources of help available to them, including the childline service

The programme involves:

  1. A virtual assembly for children aged 5-7 and 7-11.
  2. Follow on lesson plans with engaging activities and resources to help reinforce and embed key messages.
  3. Face-to-face workshops for Year 2 and Year 5/6.

The Talk PANTS Programme:

The NSPCC PANTS campaign helps both parents and schools introduce important key messages about abuse in an age- appropriate, child- friendly way.

More details about the campaign, including guidance for parents, a film about the NSPCC mascot Pantosaurus, and a story book can be accessed here:
